Human Sexuality - HONORS

Course Description

This course is a comprehensive study of the biological, psychological, and socio-cultural aspects of human sexuality. Students will explore the values and attitudes, and their relationship to behaviors and behavioral changes, with an assessment of various cultural mores and current safe sex practices. Because this is an honors program course, students will focus on critical thinking abilities, the demand for discussions, and clear argumentation. A written analysis is explored at a greater depth and students will complete extra assignments to gain a deeper insight into Human Development.

    De Anza will host its annual Enrollment Day event for graduating high school students and their families on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Main Quad and other locations.

    Sixteen faculty members were granted tenure by the Foothill-De Anza district Board of Trustees on Monday, during a special celebration attended by Chancellor Lee Lambert and leaders from the college and district. Colleagues, deans and family members were also there to congratulate them.

    Four members of the De Anza College community will be honored in March with Excellence Awards from the national League for Innovation in the Community College. They were selected for their outstanding service to the college and its students.

    De Anza has received its first-ever grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, providing $150,000 for an ambitious, three-year effort to create and expand oral history programs focused on historically marginalized communities.
