What We Do

Custodial Operations cleans the interior of the campus buildings, oversees supply  & distribution of PPE products and provides support for college on-campus events.

Our Commitment

The Custodial Operations department fully supports the college's  sustainability program and is committed to environmental responsibility. Some examples include

  • Paper towel and toilet paper dispensers use 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper.
  • New buildings have air hand dryers.
  • Cleaning products are  “Green Seal” certified whenever possible – including foam hand soap in all restrooms, floor wax, floor strippers and carpet shampoo.

A Learning Environment

The department has a diverse workforce of employees who are fluent in numerous languages, including Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese and Tagalog. The department can help provide students with directions to classrooms or offices in their native language,  while promoting a friendlier learning environment for all.

Cleaning Schedule

Due to personnel reductions, the custodial staff are only able to maintain service at Level 5 of the APPA Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities.
