Making the EMP a Reality

Join the Next Collegewide Planning Session!

  • Friday, April 19: 10:30 a.m.-noon
  • Online via Zoom – watch for Outlook calendar invitation

You can be involved in planning De Anza’s future: Everyone’s invited to this collegewide Zoom meeting to review draft action plans for the strategic planning initiatives identified in De Anza’s Educational Master Plan. Five interdisciplinary teams have been working to develop these plans, drawing on additional input gathered on Opening Day last fall. This meeting is an opportunity for employees to review the draft plans, provide feedback and learn how to participate in this important work. Watch for an Outlook calendar invitation with the Zoom link.

De Anza is now implementing its Educational Master Plan (EMP) for 2022-2027, in a process that will involve collegewide engagement through the current academic year and beyond.

strategic planning initiativesThe EMP includes four institutional initatives that will frame efforts to increase enrollment and improve outcomes for key student population groups, while drawing on the important work of De Anza's Student Equity Plan and Guided Pathways project to achieve cultural and structual change.

With authorization from the College Planning Committee, the tri-chairs who led the strategic planning process are now coordinating the implementation work. In spring 2023, they invited leaders across campus to participate in a summer workshop as preparation for implementation sessions that will be held during the 2023-24 academic year.

The first of these sessions was held during the college Opening Day event on Sept. 21, 2023. Additional sessions will be held in November and during winter quarter.

Implementation Sessions

  • Session 1 (Opening Day, Sept. 21): Share your input!
    • Hands-on activity to identify what's working well and what can be improved
  • Session 2 (Nov. 30): Celebrate great work!
  • Session 3 (Friday, April 19):
