Strategic Plan: 2027-2030

Students on a campus lawnDe Anza College approved the 2027-2030 Strategic Plan in fall 2025, with an anticipated rollout of fall 2027. At that time, the college was funded by apportionment based on total student enrollment. Since then, it has transitioned to a community-based funding model, which is not as reliant on enrollment growth.

Since the approved 2027-2030 Strategic Plan was written based on enrollment growth in all areas, the plan now requires revision. At a May 2026 town hall meeting, the college agreed to:

  • Review and revise the 2027-2030 Strategic Plan to move away from a focus on enrollment growth to one of timely student attainment of educational goals
  • Reduce the number of metrics in the plan  

The College Planning Committee will lead the revision of the 2027-2030 Strategic Plan in the 2026-2027 academic year. The committee will hold the following campuswide engagement activities to gather input and feedback on the revision process.  

All town hall meetings will be held on Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in MLC255 or on Zoom.

Fall 2026

  • October 9, 2026: Feedback from Opening Day Community Conversations
    • Town hall sharing the collegewide feedback from Opening Day Community Conversations, kicking off the Strategic Plan process. 
  • October 16, 2026: Strategic Plan: Where We Are, Where We're Going
    • Town hall providing a summary of the work that has taken place on the action plans from the 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. These plans wrapped up in spring 2026. We will also share plans for updating the 2027-2030 Strategic Plan. 
  • November 6, 2026: Program Review and Program Maps
    • Town hall sharing a draft of the instructional program review template and updates to the program maps. The new program review process will begin in fall 2027 on a four-year cycle, with programs staggered each year. 
  • November 16, 2026: AI Infrastructure 
    • More information to come. 

Winter 2027

  • January 15, 2027: Learnings from the Year of Reflection
    • Town hall sharing progress from departments campuswide on working toward the college’s new North Star of timely educational goal attainment.
  • February 5, 2027: Feedback on the 2027-2030 Strategic Plan 
    • Town hall sharing progress on revising the 2027-2030 Strategic Plan and a draft of the plan for feedback. 
  • March 5, 2027: Sharing the Final Program Review Process
    • Town hall showcasing the final program review process, including new templates for Instruction, Student Services, Academic Services and Equity programs. 
  • March 12, 2027: Updates on our Basic Aid Status
    • Town hall sharing updates and progress on our transition to a basic aid (community-based) funding model.

Spring 2027 

  • April 16, 2027: Final 2027-2030 Strategic Plan 
    • Town hall sharing the final draft of the revised 2027-2030 Strategic Plan, including action plans to guide the college in attaining its North Star. 
  • May 7, 2027: Program Review Training + Program Maps 
    • Town hall providing an overview of the program review process and serving as a training for programs engaging in program review in fall 2027.
