Welcome
Persian is one of many world languages taught at De Anza.
Regretably, during Spring 2013 we canceled low-enrolled courses two weeks prior to
the beginning of the quarter. In these very tight budgetary times, classes with fewer than twenty (20) students are
just not sustainable. We are offering Persian 1 in fall 2022 and hope to rebuild interest
and enrollment in Persian.
Registering as early as you can will be the key to sustaining a strong Persian language
program at De Anza College.
If you have studied a language at another institution, to accurately assess your past instruction (and support your success in further Persian
language study), we require a World Languages prerequisite clearance to register in PERS 2 or higher. If you wish to contact an instructor, see our Persian department faculty list.
Please follow these general rules to decide which course level is best for you.
- One year of high school language is equal to one quarter of De Anza language. For example, if you took Persian 1 & 2 in high school, you can continue with Persian 3 at De Anza.
- Review the Persian course catalog and current schedule of classes.
- Visit our division World Languages website for more information about taking a language class at De Anza.
