Equity Process Guide

The Equity Process Guide was written to address additions and revisions to Title 5, specifically § 55001, § 55001.5, and § 55002 that pertain to equity. For the updated Title 5 text, see here. The Equity Process Guide is the foundational document through which the Curriculum Committee will review for equity in CORs to ensure compliance with Title 5. Each section of the guide fits within an existing section of De Anza’s CORs. This enables the embedding of equity review into the current curriculum committee review processes.

Each COR will be reviewed using the Equity Process Guide, and review of each COR will be documented to ensure transparency, equity, and compliance. Space is provided for faculty to explain how they are meeting components of the Equity Process Guide and to discuss challenges or concerns specific to their COR (on eLumen, see the DEI Review box on the Basic Course Information tab). Curriculum Committee will read these explanations and provide tailored support, guidance, and understanding.
