College Council

College Council is guided by the college Vision, Mission and Values

Goals for 2025-26

  1. Lead the development of the Strategic Plan 2027-2030 for the college
  2. Facilitate communication and collaboration among all constituency groups
  3. Develop criteria for establishing annual Goals/Guiding Principles that will be evaluated each year by constituency groups
  4. Train new members on the college’s governance group structure
  5. Support the SEM Academy, VAR Academy, and IEPI PRT planned work
  6. Ensure that resource allocation is aligned with college priorities and strategic goals
  7. Establish regular assessment of progress toward institutional goals (e.g., institution-set standards such as student course completion rates, degree and certificate attainment, transfer success, CTE licensure passage rates, and CTE job placement across different programs and populations) and implement intentional adjustments to college practices as needed

Governance Pathway

In the governance pathway, all constituent members of the college community (students, faculty, classified professionals and administrators) are represented by their respective organizations. These organizations are represented on the Resource Allocation and Program Planning (RAPP) committee, which gives recommendations and advice to the College Council. Recommendations and advice are given directly to the president through the College Council. After receiving recommendations and advice from these pathways, the president makes the final decisions.
