Celebrating LGBTQ+ Heritage Month: Alan Turing
Alan Mathison Turing was born on 23 June 1912 in Maida Vale, London, England. Turing was a code-breaking war hero, the father of computer science and artificial intelligence. He showed signs of high intelligence and at the age of 13, and he became particularly interested in math and science. However, homosexuality was illegal in the United Kingdom in the early 1950s. Alan Turing admitted to police that he had a relationship with 19-year-old Arnold Murray. Turing was charged with indecency since homosexual acts were considered a crime, which ultimately led to his death on June 7, 1954. In 2013, Queen Elizabeth II granted Turing a rare royal pardon almost 60 years, and three years later, on October 20, 2016, the British governmnet announced "Turing's Law" to pardon thousands of gay and bisexual men who were convicted for homosexual acts when it was considered a crime.

Programs and Services
In summer 2024, Accounting 1A, 1B, 1C & Business 10 tutoring will take place in drop-in sessions. We do no offer scheduled, weekly individual tutoring (WIT) appointments in the summer. Check this page regularly to keep up to date about services and our hours of operation.
Tutors can help review your work and explain concepts that are difficult for you.
Drop-in Tutoring
Drop-in tutoring – without an appointment – is available during all hours of operation, every quarter. You are welcome to drop in for a maximum of 30 minutes per session, 2 sessions per day.
For Zoom tutoring, use the gold button above to join a drop-in or WIT session. Once you sign in, you will be assigned to a breakout room for a one-on-one session via Zoom. For on-campus tutoring in fall, ask to be sign in on the computer at the front entrance in ATC 309 and wait to be called by your tutor.
Weekly Individual Tutoring (WIT)
In the fall, winter, and spring quarters, Weekly Individual Tutoring appointments are available on a limited basis, depending on tutor availability. If you request WIT and are assigned, use the gold button at the top of this webpage to sign in for your scheduled weekly session on Zoom. For on-campus tutoring, ask to be sign in on the computer at the front entrance and look for your assigned WIT tutor.
You and your tutor will meet once a week. During this tutoring time, you can work on areas and topics that you need help with and learn strategies to help you study the subject better on your own.
