Math Sequence for Associate Degrees, Most Certificates and Undecided

Check assist.org to verify your major and IGETC requirements for transfer. If you have any advanced placement (AP) scores of 3 or higher in Statistics or Calculus you may not need to enroll in additional math courses. To verify, visit the PSME Division.

Math 114 Intermediate Algebra – may be required as a prerequisite for certain classes and does not transfer; good option if you only completed beginning algebra and need precalculus I or you can consider college algebra with the corequisite support course (Math 231 and 31).

The next CSU/UC transferable math course choices are statistics, college algebra, math for liberal arts students, and math for elementary school teachers. Read about the courses and options to completing these courses at the non-business and non-STEM* major site.
